La Otra Orilla is looking for dancing partners

Passionate and dedicated, Myriam Allard and Hedi Graja concentrate on perfecting their art through the exploration of gesture, rhythm and other artistic possibilities in order to communicate their world view through their dance. La Otra Orilla also has a very strong mission to train and inspire young dancers. The beauty and power of their unique creations has been praised by audiences throughout Quebec as well as in Canada, the United States and South America. Their show El12 (2010) was nominated at the Toronto Dora Awards and is touring this year around the world.

La Otra Orilla needs your support!

Recognized at all levels of government, La Otra Orilla receives funding from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec and the Conseil des Arts de Montréal. Unfortunately, however, their support is not enough.

Traditionally the least funded of the performing arts, the dance milieu has always had to rely on the generosity of its donors to survive and pursue its development. This year, La Otra Orilla has set itself the ambitious objective of collecting $7,500. These funds will be injected directly into the company, enabling us to:

          • offer training to promising young Canadian dancers ($3,500)

          • invest in an endowment fund through the CALQ Placement Culture program to build a stronger administrative structure the company ($4,000)

Join us in the dance!

As the future success of La Otra Orilla depends on diversifying its sources of revenue, we are calling on your generosity. Donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated. As a registered charitable organization, La Otra Orilla issues receipts for tax purposes for all donations received.
