Rosanna Terracciano is an Italian-Canadian Calgary-based independent artist who works at the intersection of flamenco, dance, contemporary performance and short film. Her creations are driven by an urgency to expose the introverted, vulnerable and muted sides of flamenco. Her solo works and short films have been presented nationally and internationally, most notably including the Bienal de Flamenco (Sevilla, 2014), Coetani Experimental Flamenco Festival (Athens, 2015) and Flamenco Empirico (Barcelona, 2011, 2012). Quelques mots sur son projet:

"Returning to the city where I had died many times, I go to meet the men and women I never was, but, at the same time, have never been able to stop being." - Valeria Luiselli, Faces in the Crowd

A January 2018 two-week residency at Montreal's Studio Pleamar marks the beginning research phases of a new solo work, tentatively titled Is a City Written on this Body? Continuing my work in exploring identity and its influence in a contemporary context, I take hold here of three cities that have also held me in various phases of my lifetime and ancestry — Calgary, Naples, Seville.
